Floodwaters wash through Jackson hospital emergency room

JACKSON, Mich (WLNS) – After weeks of no rain mid-Michigan got hit with some strong showers overnight.

All that rain caused some areas in Jackson County to flood, including Henry Ford Allegiance Hospital.

It happened shortly after midnight, when three inches of rain water came through the emergency department ambulance bay.

As of now, if you are in need of an ambulance, they will still get to you but will be transported to the nearest hospital available.

A spokesperson for the hospital tells 6 News that the hospital is still accepting walk-in patients and any patients in need of critical care, such as a patient experiencing heart attack symptoms.

Clean-up is still underway.
