Authorities search Lake Michigan for missing 16-year-old

PARK TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) — Authorities are searching the water near a popular Lake Michigan beach for a 16-year-old boy who didn’t resurface after a small boat capsized.

The search began Sunday night near Holland State Park beach in western Michigan.

The Ottawa County sheriff’s department says two 16-year-olds were out in a boat when it capsized during a turn. They say one was pulled from the water by a passing boater.

The U.S. Coast Guard is involved in the search. Authorities say the teens were from the Holland area. Names weren’t immediately released.
