LANSING, Mich (WLNS) – It’s been a long time since Michigan’s unemployment rate has been as low as it is today.
The jobless rate fell to 4.7 percent in May, the lowest rate since March 2001.
Governor Snyder said the state’s unemployment rate peaked at 14.9 percent in June 2009 and was the highest in the nation.
Since that time Michigan has seen the largest unemployment decline in the country.
Snyder added it’s time to build on the momentum and keep investing in the areas that need attention in Michigan.
