Taylor not competent to be tried for Rodeman death

(WLNS) – The man accused of killing a Lansing firefighter has been found not competent to be tried at this time.

Grant Taylor is the man accused of running over Lansing firefighter Dennis Rodeman last September.

Rodeman died of his injuries.

Mental health experts have been examining Taylor to see if he truly understands what he is accused of doing and the charges against him.

Taylor has been sent back to the Center for Forensic Psychiatric in Ypsilanti for more evaluation.

Soon after he was charged family and friends told police about bizarre incidents involving Taylor, prompting an initial mental health examination.

Prosecutors say Taylor intentionally drove into Rodeman while he and other fire fighters were collecting donations for charity in a south Lansing intersection.
