ORIGINAL STORY (12:15pm) A power outage of unknown size has hit the Lansing area.
We’ve got reports from west Lansing to downtown Lansing to East Lansing that the power is out.
Police are warning people to treat lights at intersections as 4 way stops and some departments are reporting problems with their phone systems because of the outage. They’re urging people who can’t get through to call 911.
The BWL website does not display the outage map at 6 News headquarters, and as of 12:22 p.m. the BWL app shows no power outages.
We’re working to get a handle on how widespread the outage is. We’ve reached out BWL officials, who tell us they will get back to us “soon.” We will let you know what we find out. Stay tuned to 6 News for the latest.
