UPDATE: 2 dead in Springport Twp. shootings

UPDATE 2:05 p.m. – Two 18-year-old men died this morning just before 7:00 a.m. during an apparent theft that led to a deadly confrontation in Springport Township. According to Springport Township Police chief Dave Luce the victims are from Jackson County but the identities have not been released. Chief Luce says there is no danger to the public. He says the investigation is continuing. The chief tells 6 News that a resident of the house shot the victims and did not leave the scene, waiting for police.

UPDATE 1:30 p.m. – There will be a news conference today at 2:00 p.m. regarding the shootings today in Springport Township. 6 News has a crew there and we anticipate livestreaming the news conference when it begins. You can watch the conference here.

SPRINGPORT, Mich (WLNS) – Two people are dead and two people are being questioned after a shooting in Springport Township this morning.

Springport Police tell 6 News that they are investigating the shootings that took place on the 13000 block of Town Road.

There are no more details being released at this time.
