East Lansing police rescue ducks from drain

A mid-Michigan family is safe and sound tonight thanks to a helping hand from the East Lansing Police Department.

The police department says it dispatched officers to help some baby ducks who fell into a storm drain in the Whitehills neighborhood.

One officer armed with a net (and two, apparently, armed with cameras), helped scoop the ducklings from the drain and deposit them near their mother – who was standing nearby.

Once reunited, the family toddled off.
