Bees blamed for semi-truck rollover on I-94

JACKSON CO., Mich (WLNS) – A driver swatting at bees is what Jackson County Sheriff’s Office investigators say led to a truck accident on I-94.

Just before 10:00 a.m. deputies were called to I-94 eastbound near North Concord Road where a tractor trailer had rolled over.

The semi-truck had ended up on the south side of the highway.

While interviewing the 27-year-old driver deputies learned that he had been swatting at bees when he lost control of his truck, left the road and overturned.

They also found the driver did not have a valid driver’s license.

The suburban Chicago man was slightly injured but refused medical care. He was also ticketed for the crash and his invalid Illinois license.

Traffic on I-94 was reduced to one lane during the clean-up and rerouted for a short period at the Concord exit on eastbound I-94 while the truck was put back on its wheels.
