Freebie Alert: Library card can get you into state parks for free

LANSING, Mich (WLNS) – Do you have a library card? Then you also have a free pass into a Michigan state park or campground.

Starting today the Department of Natural Resources and Blue Cross Blue Shield are teaming-up to offer some freebies.

If you have a library card you can go online to the “Michigan Activity Pass” site and print a one-day pass which gets you into more than 200 parks and campgrounds in the state for free.

You can print out your one-day pass at home or your local library.

The pass also gets you discounted access to 170 historical and cultural destinations.

Also this year the “Every Kid in a Park” initiative gets parents and teachers of 4th grade students free entry to Michigan’s national parks and lakeshores.
