LANSING, Mich (WLNS) – It might only be Monday but now is a good time to begin making plans for the weekend.
And what a weekend it promises to be at Cristo Rey Church as it hosts the annual fiesta beginning Friday night and running through Sunday night.
Manuel Delgado of Cristo Rey visited with 6 News This Morning’s Chivon Kloepfer and talked about what people can expect to find at Fiesta 2016.
Delgado said the fiesta began in the 1970s with just two tents and a couple hundred people. Now thousands of people will come during the three days to enjoy live entertainment, dancing, lots of food, shopping and fun for all ages.
The family-friendly event begins Friday, May 27 at 4:00 p.m. and runs until 11:00 p.m. Tickets are $5 after 5:00 p.m.
Saturday the party picks back up at 11:00 a.m. and rolls on until 11:00 p.m.
Sunday begins with a Mass celebrated under the tents at 11:00 a.m. and then the Fiesta goes until 7:00 p.m. There is no admission charge on Sunday.
Fiesta 2016 will be located at 201 W. Miller Road in Lansing. Look for the tents – you can’t miss it.
