GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (AP/WLNS) – A 5-year-old Grand Rapids boy who wants to be a police officer has received a custom sticker job on his mini cruiser so he now looks the part.

Heidi Versluis recently wrote to the Grand Rapids Police Department to thank officer Adam Ickes for spending time with her son, Travis, after he responded to a call in their neighborhood. The officer watched Travis show off his Power Wheels police cruiser and offered him the chance to sit in the front seat of a real police car.

Versluis’ note and photos of the visit were shared on the department’s Facebook page. She tells our media partners at MLive that the post inspired retired Fruitport sign maker Rick Cejmer to create the stickers for Travis’ small car.
