LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) – About 200 Muslims from around the state will meet with lawmakers in Lansing Tuesday to share their concerns about hate speech against themselves and immigrants.

The annual event is organized by the Michigan Muslim Community Council and will feature Michigan Supreme Court Justice Richard Bernstein as its keynote speaker this year.

The Muslim group will also ask legislators to invest in Detroit and Flint and says it has already donated $50,000 this year to help families recover from the water crisis.

We welcome thoughts and comments from our viewers. We ask that everyone keep their remarks civil and respectful. Postings that contain profanity, racist, or potentially libelous remarks will be deleted. We will delete any commercial postings, as well.
