Tesla Motors considers legal action to sell cars in Michigan

(WLNS) – An automaker is considering legal measures in order to sell cars here in Michigan.

Tesla Motors sells its cars directly to customers but Michigan law says all new cars have to be sold through dealerships.

Tesla applied to open a dealership in Michigan but the application stalled when state officials asked Tesla to prove it was a franchised dealer.

Tesla General Counsel Todd Marion told the Detroit News the company is determined to enter the Michigan market and may use legal action to do so.
