WASHINGTON (WLNS) – A Michigan State Trooper who was previously stationed in Jackson and who died in an auto accident in August has been added to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in the nation’s Capital.

More than 250 officers from around the country who died in the line of duty were added to the memorial during a ceremony on Friday that attracted about 20,000 people.

Among the new officers was Trooper Chad Wolf who was hit by a car while riding his motorcycle.

The memorial is meant to show the sacrifice of fallen officers and help the grieving process.

The man charged with reckless driving in Wolf’s death is awaiting trial.
