1 dead in Brighton area house fire

BRIGHTON, Mich (WLNS) – Fire investigators in Brighton are searching for the cause of a fatal fire early this morning.

A 67-year old man died inside his burning Brighton Township home on the 10000 block of Buno Road in Livingston County.

The call for help came around 2:30 a.m.

Chief Michael O’Brian of the Brighton Area Fire Department tells 6 News when firefighters got on scene the fire had already engulfed the home.

It took them about 15 minutes before they could control the flames enough to get inside.

Chief O’Brian says the man was pulled from the house and pronounced dead on scene.

No one else was inside the house.
