This Morning: A Look Back at ‘Rock the Block’

(WLNS) — It’s the end of the week, and that means that Habitat for Humanity’s Women Build/Rock the Block Week in Lansing’s Old Town is coming to a close.

Executive Director Vicki Hamilton-Allen stopped by 6 This Morning to give an update on progress.

Volunteers are putting the finishing touches on the 8 individual home projects that including painting and some outdoor repair work.

Groups are also hoping to finish large scale murals on a few commercial structures in the neighborhood as well, and you’ll remember the ladies of 6 News helped to revamp a community garden on Monday.

Just like all Habitat builds, most volunteers have zero construction training and don’t work as professional painters.
