UPDATE 11:58 a.m. – According to Lansing Police the woman remains in critical condition and the search is on for a male suspect. Investigators tell 6 News that the woman was in a car with several other people when a man walked up to the vehicle and began arguing with the victim.
A gun was fired and the bullet hit the woman. Police say she was not the intended target. They also stress that the shooting was not random and they are sorting through conflicting statements from the witnesses.

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) – A local woman is recovering in the hospital after Lansing police say someone shot her on the city’s south side.
That call for help came shortly after 11:00 p.m. Monday night to the 3200 block of Reo Road just north of Jolly.
When police got there they say they found an injured 20-year-old woman.
She was taken to the hospital.
Police say she was conscious at the time but couldn’t say how badly she was hurt.
The shooting is currently under investigation.
