Volunteers needed to honor Lansing veterans

LANSING, Mich (WLNS) – Do you have a few hours to give back to our country’s veterans?

Lansing’s Parks and Recreation Department is looking for people who are willing to volunteer a few hours to help place flags on the gravesites of veterans.

Each year over 5,000 flags are placed on gravesites within North, Evergreen and Mount Hope Cemeteries.

All the flags should be in place before the 2016 Memorial Day ceremony on Saturday, May 21 at 10:00 a.m.

Volunteers are needed to place the flags on the designated gravesites in each of the cemeteries.

If you would like more details or are willing to volunteer, please contact Yvette Morgan at 517-483-4286.
