JACKSON, Mich. (WLNS) – The Jackson City Council will vote on whether or not to spend nearly $3 million in grant money to help with the city’s lead paint problem.

Earlier this month, 6 News reported that children in Jackson have the second highest blood lead levels in the state even though the city’s water has normal lead levels.

Officials think the problem may be lead paint in older buildings.

The vote will take place Tuesday night.
