Jackson County home invader sentenced to prison

JACKSON CO., Mich (WLNS) – He pleaded guilty to breaking into two apartments in Blackman Township and sexually assaulting at least one person last summer.

Now 23-year-old Diaquan Hardrick is going to prison for between seven and 20 years.

Circuit Court Judge Susan Beebe sentenced Hardrick to between 7 and 20 years in prison on two counts of home invasion.

He also will spend between 7 and 15 years behind bars for 2nd Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct.

Headrick targeted apartment complexes along Springport Road in July of last year.

Jackson County Prosecutor Jerry Jarzynka was pleased with the sentence. “We are very pleased with Judge Beebe’s sentence. It’s a tough sentence that is very appropriate for this crime.”

Jarzynka also praised the investigation done by the Blackman-Leoni Township Public Safety Department.
