LANSING, Mich (WLNS) – Want to pick up a 2017 Camaro Convertible and do some good at the same time?
The first retail 2017 Camaro Convertible, VIN #001, is being offered at auction this weekend to benefit the Southeastern Michigan United Way.
A General Motors spokesperson has confirmed with 6 News that the car will go under the gavel at approximately 5:30 p.m. Saturday at the Barret-Jackson Auction in West Palm Beach, Florida.
The 50th Anniversary edition car will be made in Lansing and is the first 2017 convertible available for sale. It features a Nightfall Grey Metallic exterior and black leather interior. The car will have special striping accents and 50th anniversary treatments on the instrument panel, seats and steering wheel.
100 percent of the sale price will be given to the Southeastern Michigan United Way. If you are interested in bidding the car is sold in lot #3005 and is a no reserve auction, which means you could get a bargain. But you better have deep pockets. Charity car auctions at Barrett-Jackson have topped $1 million in the past.
The Barret-Jackson auction will be televised live on the Velocity channel.
