Meth lab removed from Meridian Twp. home

UPDATE (5:08 p.m. April 4) – On Sunday April 3 around 12:50 a.m.officers were called to the 6000 block of Horizon Dr. in Meridian Twp for a report of a possible breaking and entering.

When officers arrived on scene the resident told officials they wanted to turn over materials located in the home that may be hazardous. The Tri-County METRO Narcotics Squad removed chemicals that officials say were used in a meth lab.

(WLNS) – Meridian Township Police are investigating “hazardous chemicals” found in a home on the 6000 block of Horizon Drive overnight.

Officers responded to the scene in full HAZMAT gear and the fire department on standby.

Emergency crews carried multiple containers out of the home, and seemed to be treating them on the scene.

Police created a perimeter around the area, but did not evacuate the neighboring homes.

6 News is working to find out exactly what the chemicals were, and whether families living in the neighborhood should take any precautions.
