Driver loses control and lands in the Grand River

LANSING, MI. (WLNS) – It didn’t block the flow of traffic but a car may have interrupted the flow of the Grand River in Lansing.

Lansing police say the driver lost control at Oakland and Center Street and landed in the water on Thursday night.

The 20-year-old was able to get out safely but was taken to the hospital to get checked out.

Rather than try and remove the car in the dark, Lansing police have decided to wait until the sun comes up Friday.

Police say the driver was speeding, hit a guard rail, went airborne and landed in the river.
