NEW YORK (WLNS) – A family says their dying mother’s wedding ring was stolen while she was at a Staten Island hospital.

The 92-year-old woman, named Pauline Twohig has worn the ring since her late husband gave it to her 60 years ago, says CBS New York.

“I know it was very special to my mother. That it had to be special that she never took it off,” said Doug Twohig, the woman’s son.

An investigation is underway to find out what happened to the ring.

The family is hoping to get the ring back because it meant so much to Pauline Twohig.
