Lights out for thousands after winds reach 55 mph

LANSING, MI (WLNS) – High winds as strong as 55 mph knocked out power to thousands in the area Wednesday afternoon into the evening. For some people power has been restored while for others the lights are still out.

The Lansing Board of Water and Light says as of 10:46 p.m. two people are without power.

DTE Energy says there are more than 700 customers without power as of 10:48 p.m. in Ingham County and about 1,400 in Livingston County.

As of 10:45 p.m. the current power outage numbers according to Consumers Energy are:
