LANSING, Mich (WLNS) – A new study is revealing the healthiest counties in Michigan and is ranking them from the top to bottom, number 83.
The study comes from the University of Wisconsin’s Population Health Institute and looks at 30 factors, including poverty, education, transportation, violent crime, jobs and more.
According to researchers those factors will influence how long and how well people live.
Washtenaw County topped the list. Livingston County ranked third with Clinton County coming in fourth.
You have to go a bit further down the list to find Eaton County. That county is ranked 15th.
Shiawassee County comes in at 24 followed closely by Ingham County in the 26th spot.
In 56th place is Jackson County and Hillsdale ranked 63rd.
At the bottom of the list, in 83rd place, is Wayne County.
The study ranked every county in each of the fifty states.
