UPDATE: Traffic moving again after accident closes westbound I-96 at Ingham Co./Livingston Co. line

UPDATE 1:30 p.m. – Traffic is moving again at posted speeds after an accident closed I-96 at the Ingham Co and Livingston County line.

INGHAM CO., Mich (WLNS) – A two-vehicle accident closed all the westbound lanes of I-96 near Wallace Road at the Ingham County and Livingston County lines today just after noon.

The accident involved a Jeep SUV and a pickup truck pulling a trailer.

Police tell 6 News that the trailer came unhitched and the two men in the truck pulled off the road to tighten the connection.

The trailer was struck by the Jeep and that vehicle rolled over as it left the road into the right-hand ditch.

The pickup truck and trailer were propelled into the left-hand lane, throwing debris across the road.

The woman driving the Jeep was injured, as were the two men when they were struck by debris from the trailer.

All were taken to local hospitals where their conditions are unknown at this time.

The road remains closed as of 1:15 p.m. while clean-up continues.
