EAST LANSING, MI. (WLNS) – Gun control is on the agenda for the East Lansing City Council meeting tonight.
House Bill 4795 would amend a public act from 1990, which imposed restrictions on how local governments can regulate the ownership, sale and possession of firearms.
The bill would create a list of penalties and legal actions to be taken against local governments that impose too many restrictions.
Although it is still in the state House, the East Lansing City Council is planning to discuss its potential ramifications Wednesday night with City Attorney Tom Yeardon and Police Captain Larry Sparkes.
The meeting begins at 7:00 p.m. at the Hannah Community Center.
