LANSING, Mich (WLNS) – Riding a wave of Super Tuesday support Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump is also leading the way among GOP voters in the upcoming Michigan primary.
That’s according to an exclusive 6 News – EPIC-MRA poll that was just released.
The survey finds that Donald Trump has an eight point lead but 1 in 5 Republican voters in Michigan are still undecided as Tuesday’s primary nears.
Here’s how the numbers break down:
- 28% Trump
- 19% Cruz
- 17% Rubio
- 8% Kasich
- 7% Carson
- 1% Bush
- 20% Undecided/Refused to answer
During the survey voters were asked who they would support as a second choice among the list of candidates. This is how those voters reacted:
- 26% Rubio
- 18% Kasich
- 15% Cruz
- 15% Carson
- 12% Trump
- 14% Undecided
One of the questions in the survey related to Donald Trump’s statement that if he were elected president he would temporarily ban all Muslims from entering the US until there is a better handle on efforts by ISIS or Al-Qaeda to infiltrate the United States with terrorists they have trained. When asked if they agreed or disagreed with Trump’s position 61 percent said they agree and 32 percent disagreed. Another seven percent were undecided.
A total of 400 survey responses were returned between February 27 and February 29. The survey had an error rate of 4.9 percent.
