Former Pinckney police sergeant faces embezzlement charges

PINCKNEY, MI. (WLNS) – First he up and quit.

Then a well-known police sergeant from the Pinckney Police Department suddenly left town.

Now we know why.

He’s charged with stealing $20,000 from his mother.

Police in Tennessee found and arrested Bill Cook last week.

He’s charged with embezzling from a vulnerable adult.

Our media partners at WHMI report Cook has waived extradition and is expected to be back in Livingston County this week to face charges.

Cook was a longtime sergeant with the Pinckney Police Department and resigned via email last year unexpectedly.
