Police warning of IRS phone scam in Jackson County

JACKSON COUNTY, MI (WLNS) – State police officials say scammers are calling residents in Jackson County claiming they work for the IRS and demanding immediate payment.

The scammers have been threatening residents that if the debt is not paid immediately, an arrest warrant will be issued.

Police say these calls are scams and residents should not give out personal information and report any suspicious calls to police by calling 517-780-4580.
