Gas prices fall 13 cents in past week to $1.53

LANSING, Mich (AP/WLNS) – AAA Michigan says gas prices statewide have fallen by about 13 cents in the past week.

The auto club says the average price for self-serve regular unleaded gasoline was about $1.53 per gallon on Sunday. That’s about 72 cents less than at the same time a year ago.

According to AAA, Michigan ranked sixth in the nation for the lowest statewide average daily gas price.

In the Lansing area gas price watchdog finds the average price for a gallon of gas is $1.53, with the lowest seen being $1.28. The site claims the trend is for the price to keep dropping.

The lowest price GasBuddy is reporting in the Flint area is $1.38.
