Former corrections officer resigns amid embezzlement investigation

EATON COUNTY, MI (WLNS) – A former Eaton County corrections officer has resigned after an embezzlement investigation.

The former officer, Allan Coker is accused of embezzling money from inmates during the booking process.

During the investigation, Coker admitted to violating procedures.

Coker was charged with embezzlement of over $50 by a public official. That’s after investigators say Coker took money on two separate incidents, both less than $100.

On Monday Coker was arraigned on a $500 personal recognizance bond.

Eaton County Sheriff Tom Reich says criminal charges are pending.
