UPDATE 9:00 a.m. – Emergency crews continue to clean up more than two dozen accidents in Ingham County alone. Drivers should allow extra time to get to their destinations because of the icy roads. County road crews continue to spread salt on bridges, overpasses and major streets.
UPDATE 8:30 a.m. – In Ingham County emergency crews are out on at least 25 accidents throughout the county. Road crews are out salting the bridges, overpasses and major streets. Police remind drivers to slow down and leave plenty of room between cars ahead of you.
(WLNS) – If you are heading out on the roads this morning police caution you to be careful and slow down.
Icy roads are causing slide-offs and collisions all across the area.
Traffic was blocked for about one-half hour just after 7:00 a.m. at Larch and East North Street due to multiple collisions.
Waverly Road and I-96 was closed before 8:00 a.m. because of crashes but that has since re-opened.
A two car crash at Pine Tree and Willoughby Road in Delhi Township created traffic issues there.
6 News meteorologist Emily Wahls says dropping temperatures and overnight rain/snow is causing the slick roads.
