LANSING, Mich (WLNS) – There’s a concert in Grand Ledge tonight to celebrate the release of a local teen’s second CD.
And some of those songs are grabbing the attention of Grammy-winning producers.
Life so far for Lansing native Taylor Taylor is pretty exciting!
The 18-year old singer/songwriter, who’s attending Lansing Community College right now, won an on-line contest for “Indi.com” and was named 2014 “Artist of the Year.”
She recently got to claim her prize which was a trip to Los Angeles.
“I loved it in California, and I got to record one of my songs and I got to meet with these Grammy-award winning producers,” said singer Taylor Taylor. “And so, it was just a lot of fun out there and I loved it.”
Her lyrics say “right here is where I want to be and where I should be. And here is where I’m happy, and nothing can stop me, I’ve got everything… Right here.”
That from her song called “Right Here.”
It’s the one she recorded in L.A. and the first one she wrote alone shortly before her sophomore year in high school.
“It was in the summer and I kind of really wasn’t feeling going back to school, like most kids don’t really,” explains Taylor. “And then I thought about the fact that like, everybody goes through high school and I’m right where I’m supposed to be.”
And Taylor Taylor is looking forward to seeing you tonight for her “extended play” CD concert at the Grand Ledge Opera House.
It’s her second CD and she says it has a more mature sound, a little more production and a little more developed of a song writing style.
