LANSING, MI (WLNS) – School officials announced exciting news for Lansing Catholic High School Friday. The school plans to improve and upgrade their athletic facilities.
It’s all part of the school’s Vision 20/20, a fundraising campaign that plays out over several years and phases.
When completed, the Lansing Catholic campus will have a new athletic stadium and updated fields as well as a new 8-lane track
The first phase is a $5 million campaign and right now school organizers have quietly raised more than $2 million in the capital campaign and are now looking for public support to finish phase one.
Staff and students say it’s an exciting time to be a Cougar.
“Every school community has that community building event Friday night lights and we’ve missed that and so to bring not only for our students but our parents and the rest of our community together it’s going to be awesome. We announced this to our students this morning prior to this press conference and they erupted in cheers they are so excited,” said Tom Maloney, president, Lansing Catholic High School.
The Cougars are hoping to have the new football field and track ready in time for their season opener against Waverly on August 26.
