Grand Ledge teachers air out differences to school board

GRAND LEDGE, Mich (WLNS) – In Grand Ledge tonight the district’s teachers had the opportunity to speak in front of the school board regarding their commitments to the students.

According to the Grand Ledge teachers’ union district teachers have been working without a contract since the beginning the school year.

They want more time to do their jobs well but say the administration and school board want its teachers to do other things during their planning time.

“The school board and administration are responsible for contract negotiations for their side,” said Teacher Union crisis leader John Ellsworth. “And we want to make sure that they know that they need to provide the support, and specifically the time to be successful to continue their mission of excellence for the grand ledge children.”
