SHIAWASSEE CO., Mich (WLNS) – Another mid-Michigan sheriff is calling it a career.
Shiawassee County sheriff George Braidwood tells 6 News he will not seek re-election.
At the end of his term Sheriff Braidwood will have spent eight years at the helm.
Braidwood started his career in Owosso in 1981 and says “it’s just time” to retire.
The sheriff tells 6 News he’s excited, scared and this will definitely be “bittersweet.”
Sheriff Braidwood joins the Ingham County sheriff and the Livingston County sheriff, both of whom are planning to leave their posts at the end of their current terms.
