Man charged in hit and run accident that killed teen going to trial

LANSING, MI (WLNS) – A man accused in the hit and run death of a Waverly High School student has been bound over to circuit court.

Officials say Hector Arroyo was driving on a suspended license when the accident happened back in October.

The student, 14-year-old Helina Dirba died the following morning after being hit by a car on W. Michigan Ave. near Waverly High School.
