East Lansing looking for election inspectors

EAST LANSING, Mich (WLNS) – Interested in seeing the election process from a different point of view?

The city of East Lansing needs civic-minded volunteers to step up as inspectors for the March 8th election.

If you are a registered voter in Michigan you have already met one of the qualifications.

Volunteers can serve for half-day or all-day shifts.

A half-day shift in from 6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. or 2:00 p.m. until close (usually 9:00 p.m.).

A full day shift is from 6:00 a.m. until close.

The pay for a half-day shift is $60 and a full-day is $120.

There is training involved and the pay for that is $10/hour.

Here is the training schedule:

  • February 22 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
  • February 23 9:00 a.m. – Noon
  • February 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. (refresher course)
