LANSING, MI. (WLNS) – A 16-year-old boy is facing open murder stemming from a shooting in the city last month.
Jquan Brinkley is being charged as an adult.
The December shooting and was a bit of a mystery at first when Lansing police officers arrived on scene.
They found 45-year-old Jeffery Capers in the driver’s seat of a vehicle that had just crashed outside of a home on Chadburn Avenue.
Officers realized he’d been shot.
He was taken to a local hospital and died soon after.
Police and prosecutors say Brinkley and another person played a role in the murder.
The 16-year old suspect is being held without bond.
