It happened around 10 p.m. in the 4300 block of Chadburne Drive on Dec. 7, 2015. Officers were called to a home on Lansing’s southwest side after they were told a car hit the house.

When officers arrived they found the driver had a gunshot wound. The driver, 45-year-old Jeffrey Alexander Capers of Trenton died later at the hospital.

Now 16-year-old Jquan Dshawn Brinkley is charged with one count of homicide – open murder, a felony and two counts of unarmed robbery, also felonies. Brinkley’s bond was denied.
