BWL customers and stakeholders to meet to address Eckert’s closure

LANSING, MI. (WLNS) – Roughly one third of Lansing Board of Water and Light customers get their power from the Eckert Power Station that’s closing in the near future.

Talks will continue Wednesday to figure out the utility’s next move.

The high cost of maintenance and stricter environmental laws are forcing the BWL to close the plant.

The meeting will take place at 6 p.m. on LCC west campus.

The Citizens Advisory Committee will hear from customers and stake-holders to try and come-up with an integrated resource plan on how to proceed.

We welcome thoughts and comments from our viewers. We ask that everyone keep their remarks civil and respectful. Postings that contain profanity, racist, or potentially libelous remarks will be deleted. We will delete any commercial postings, as well.
