Gov. Snyder orders flags lowered for fallen Jackson Co. firefighter

LANSING, Mich (WLNS) – U.S. and Michigan flags will be lowered to half-staff at all state buildings and the Capitol Complex today in honor of a Jackson County firefighter who passed away this weekend.

Charles Adams Jr., 47 died of heart complications on Saturday during a search-and-rescue training exercise.

Adams was a volunteer firefighter for the Spring Arbor Township fire department.

He had previously worked with the Jackson County Sheriff’s office and had been director of safety and security at Jackson Community College.

When ordering the flags to be lowered Governor Rick Snyder thanked Adams for a lifetime of service.
