Fire burns church in southern Michigan; no injuries reported

GRASS LAKE, Mich. (AP) – A fire has burned a church in southern Michigan.

Our media partners at The Jackson Citizen Patriot and MLive report crews responded around 9:40 a.m. Wednesday to the fire at the Federated Church of Grass Lake in Jackson County.

No injuries were reported and there was no immediate word from officials about the cause of the fire.

Traffic was kept from the area as crews battled the blaze. Heavy smoke billowed from the building as crews from several departments were on the scene.
