Police officers fall through ice trying to rescue a woman and dog

BATH TOWNSHIP, MI. (WLNS) – It all began when a pet dog ran out onto thin ice on a local lake.

Today a local woman is recovering after falling through the ice on Rose Lake.

Bath Township police say she was trying to rescue her dog after the pet fell through last night just before 7:00 p.m.

It happened on the western side of the lake near the 15000 block of Upton Road.

Bath Township Police Officers arrived on scene and began to pull the woman and dog out of the icy water when two of the officers fell through the ice, as well.

The woman was taken to the hospital for treatment.

The officers were treated at the scene.

The dog also survived.
