(WLNS) – A settlement of approximately $12,000 will be paid in a harassment lawsuit filed by the former aide of a state house member.
Representative Brian Banks, a democrat from Harper Woods, says he fired his aide and driver because of his driving record and other issues.
The former aide says he was let go because he rejected Banks’ sexual advances.
That’s when he filed the lawsuit.
Banks tried to argue that he was immune to lawsuits but the Michigan Appeals Court disagreed, because the lawsuit wasn’t related to the legislative process.
