Christmas tree collection begins in Lansing

LANSING, Mich (WLNS) – It’s one of the sure signs that the holidays are over: having to dispose of the live-cut Christmas tree.

City crews is Lansing will be picking up trees the week of January 4 through January 11.

If you are a Lansing resident you can put your tree curbside for pickup on the same day you put our your blue trash bags, blue carts and green recycling carts.

City crews will pick up the trees and ask that the trees be placed so that they are clearly visible and not buried in snow.

They also ask that trees that are 6-feet or longer be cut in half.
