(WLNS) – Heather Buchel has found justice after her purse and identity were stolen almost a month ago, and was then accused of a larceny robbery and selling stolen items to a pawn shop.
Lansing Police Department mistakenly accused her of the crime and using the information available, her picture was featured in 6 News Crime Stoppers on December ninth.
After a month long nightmare, Buchel has been given justice by the Ingham County Prosecutors Office thanks to Detective Matthew Krumback finding fingerprints at the pawn shop and comparing them to Bushel’s in a fingerprint test.
Through this long journey, Buchel wishes she would have taken action as soon as her purse was stolen so she could have avoided the entire ordeal.
Lansing Police are still investigating to find the thief responsible for stealing the purse and for the crime Buchel was accused of.
