Team returns home; Spartan faithful not shaken by Cotton Bowl loss

ARLINGTON, TX (WLNS) – It’s been a great run for the Spartans but despite their loss to Alabama here at the Cotton Bowl, Spartan fans still say they love their Green and White.

Fans lined up to voice their support. “Obviously, a little bit disappointed, but the guys had a great team, coach always brings it to the table, but I’m sure he’s just as disappointed as we are.”

The team might have been beaten but one thing remains: “We got pride. Coach D is the man, we’re building. Connor: he did his best, that bad pick, it hurt us, We’ll be back, we’ll be back.”

Another fan echoes that feeling. “I’m really proud, I’ll always be a Spartan, through and through and I’m proud they made it here.”

But the loss still stings. “This is a tough one to swallow, I mean I’m proud of this year and I encompass the mantra of the year and every year Dantonio has done for this team, for the Spartan community. What a turnout, what a crowd, win or lose, still a proud Spartan for life.”

This fan’s faith is unshakable. “I believe in the program PERIOD. Trust me, in due time, we’ll be back.”

All year long the mantra has been to reach higher and Spartan fans believe in that too and they say they’ll continue to support their team.
